Since we have had numerous questions regarding this, and it is one of the core rules of our crew, I would like to clarify what we as a crew define the terms “modding, glitching and cheesing”

I am going to caution everybody of the following:

  • These are not dictionary definitions of these words, it’s how the crew defines them.
  • This is not a debatable subject, people found in breach of these rules will be dealt with accordingly.

New means of manipulating the game are found often, so we will not list everything here, use these definitions as guidelines, and if you are still not sure, ask a staff member.

Modding:
This one is classified quite clearly, and is a very serious offence, even by Rockstar standards.
This is the manipulation or modification of the game code, in any way, to allow actions within the game that are not possible during normal operation. This obviously includes every single mod menu.

Offenders will get banned from the crew immediately.

As a further note regarding modding:
The receipt and spending of modded cash is not allowed, and you will be asked to remove these funds (spent or not) and repeat offenders will have action taken against them.

Glitching:
We define this as taking advantage of and or manipulating an event or situation in the game to your own advantage, be this for money, RP, Items or style (vehicle or character).
Although there is no modification to the game files as per modding, glitching falls outside of what was intended by Rockstar.

To make this absolutely clear: Any use of any game mechanic outside Rockstar's intended function will not be tolerated.

As much as we do not allow glitching, we also do not allow our members to spread glitching techniques, both actions will have severe repercussions.

There has been some debate regarding the “cleaning” of sessions (via alt+enter or suspending the game process), this is not considered a glitch, and will not get you banned either by us or Rockstar.

Cheesing:
This shares a very similar definition to glitching, but instead of a monetary value gain, the advantage here is given in the form of gameplay. These actions are frowned upon in general, and will not be tolerated in crew events.

Cheesing in events will get you removed from the event, and action will be taken against repeat offenders.

Tools:
ANY tool or script that replaces human actions is strictly forbidden. Whether it is a tool to drop in-game cash, to make your car go faster, or to make a 'clean session'. The last one also means tools that operate the resource monitor, such as batch (.bat) scripts. Click here for the allowed method on making clean sessions.

Depending on the tool used, either a warning or a kick out of the crew will be given.

There were questions about using "built-in" keyboard/mouse macros. I think this statement covers it. Obviously we aren't going to say you can't use your mouse/kb driver/software. But because it allows you to create macros doesn't make that part OK (potentially even if that should include some kind of support from Rockstar specifically!) if it violates the above statement.

Note that the crew takes a much sterner stance on things that Rockstar says are "OK" that are not OK with crew rules such as with modded money - please see: http://solidpoints.shivtr.com/forum_threads/2668722 on that point. I hope that clears things up.
